CCR Petition for Victims of Torture and Prayers

~I will be joining the Center for Constitutional Rights by fasting on November 1st. I urge you to demand that the Department of Defense take the following steps to bring torture, abuse and inhumane treatment to an end at Guantanamo:

1. Give the detainees a fair hearing and immediately release those who have committed no crime
2. Provide adequate food, water, shelter, medical treatment and the observance of religious practices;
3. Provide to families and legal counsel timely reports on the health status of detainees, especially those participating in the hunger strike;
4. Provide independent investigators (domestic and international ) access to all detainees.

~Dear Father/Mother God, Bless those who have recently passed and those who are in transition now. Bless their families and friends who have remained behind and are grieving.

Bring comfort to them. Bring comfort and healing to those who have been injured and suffered loss due to Hurricane Katrina. Bless and strengthen those who are helping ones whose lives have been thrown into chaos. Bring order and help to the situation, and to those who are suffering, bring peace and comfort. Bless Mother Earth and ease her suffering. Guide our leaders as they work to restore order and to aid the people and communities in need of help. Thank you for bringing out the best in all who are doing all that they can to help. This we ask in the name of Love. Amen. So be it.

For all of God's People

Lord, we ask you to show your compassion and mercy for the people
on the Gulf Coast and surrounding areas. Please let us all grow together as a community and learn to love each other and feel like we are all brothers and sisters.

We are all God's family.
We all need each other no matter how far rich or poor. There is always something that one can give.... money, compassion, food, a smile, a pat on the back.,
a kind word.

Lord teach us to love each other.
Show your mercy, Lord. Please let us all have a glimmer of hope...Lord, this world is not an easy place to live.

We all struggle and suffer in our own way.

I continue to pray for all. Love and the warmest thoughts from SC.

River of Light

Beloved God,

In the seventeenth century, your servant, George Fox, founder of the Religious Society of Friends, had a vision. "I saw the infinite love of God. I saw also that there was an ocean of darkness and death, and an infinite ocean of light and love, which flowed over the ocean of darkness. In that I also saw the inifinite love of God."

Hold on to us now that we may keep our faces turned toward Light as we reach out to hold and support each other. Open our hearts
and minds to unity and love. Quiet our spirits, increase our courage, fortify us for the long struggle ahead. Keep us in Your Light. We pray this in Jesus' name.
